Welcome...

..to the Little Company of Mary Global Website.

The LCM Sisters were founded in 1877 by Venerable Mary Potter.

Dedicated to the physical care of the poor, the sick, the suffering and the dying, and to constant prayer for the suffering and dying of the world, the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, their associates and affiliated members are called to see and act through the lens of justice, in order to make visible the truth that all women and men are to share the fruits of God's graciousness in Jesus.

We invite you to join with us in our ministry of prayer for the Dying. Click here to access prayers for the dying. Daily prayer is available HERE as is the Act of Entrustment to Mary

Vision 2000

Inspired by the faith, courage and initiative of the founder of the Little Company of Mary, Mary Potter, we are called to respond to the challenges of our contemporary world - thus giving credence and relevance to our lives as women religious.
The 15th Congregation Chapter proposes five key areas for our continued renewal. The following key elements shape our lives over the next six years.

  • Developing a model of Global response for mission.
  • Proclaiming and promoting the significance of our Marian spirituality and mariology in general, in the church and world.
  • Enabling the realization of new forms of membership as we work towards integrating the reality of pain and loss in our life journey
  • Developing a global conscience that we may do justice wherever we are.
  • Adopting a congregation-wide model of shared responsibility for mission.
  • Following Mary, the Mother of the Lord, we seek to obey her charge to "do whatever he tells you" as we work towards the integration of our lives as women religious walking into the new millennium.

Inspired by the "hope that is within us" - which is none other than Christ, we embrace our vocation as a sign and promise of God's mercy and justice in the world.
